Player to watch: Karl-Anthony Towns

Fitting into a new offense, improving on defense, and leading the Wolves to wins – all at 22-years-old – hasn’t come easy for Karl-Anthony Towns whose up-and-down play has been strange to see for such a consistent, exciting talent.

It hasn’t been a bad season by any means though for Towns, averaging over 20 points and 11 rebounds and helping the Timberwolves scrape to a 7-5 record.

As we know, KAT is capable of dominating any night on the offensive end, producing multiple 30+ point outbursts this year already.

But – as we are getting used to hearing – Karl-Anthony Towns needs to improve on the other end of the floor.

Towns’ Defensive Rating is a frightening 115.8 over the last two games, after looking like he had begun to turn the corner in the Wolves win streak.

It is clear that Towns’ defensive exploits – whether it be good or bad – have a direct impact on the Timberwolves results, and it is crucial that he can do his part to help slow down whoever the Jazz throw at him in Rudy Gobert’s absence.

Next: Jeff 'Teague is a better fit than Ricky Rubio

It will be another important, tough division match-up, so tune in to see how our Timberwolves go!
