7. Tyus Jones (9)

Season stats: 14.4 MPG – 3.0 PPG – 2.0 APG – 0.5 SPG – 39.4% FG – 36.4% 3PT – 90% FT

Weekly stats: 13.7 MPG – 2.7 PPG – 2.0 APG – 1.0 SPG – 44.4% FG

It was a rough start to the season for Tyus Jones, but now, into the fourth week of his third NBA year, Jones has started to finally show why so many have always held faith in him.

Jones’ stats might not be mind-blowing, but his impact on the game is huge when the Timberwolves – *cough* Jeff Teague *cough* – are struggling to find the offensive game plan.

There have been loud calls for more minutes for the Duke product around the Timberwolves fan base lately and for good reason.

Jones has shown that despite his lack of size, he is an excellent team defender whose quick hands cause problems for sloppy dribblers. He has also shown once again that he excels in setting up the offense and playing to his teammate’s strengths.

Tyus Jones may have some troubling holding down his newfound ranking position, but his rise this week is a reward for his impressive play.
