4. Taj Gibson (5)

Season stats: 30.6 MPG – 10.2 PPG – 7.6 RPG – 1.2 SPG – 54.9% FG – 27.3% 3PT – 85% FT

Weekly stats: 34.3 MPG – 15.0 PPG – 9.3 RPG – 1.0 SPG – 55.2% FG – 20% 3PT – 80% FT

As the Timberwolves stumbled this week, Taj Gibson certainly didn’t.

Unlike most Wolves, the big man was impressive in all three games, posting a double-double in the final two.

Gibson has been as good as advertised all season on defense, even on a shaky Timberwolves defensive team, but the real surprise has been his ability to score the ball, averaging 15 points per game this week.

Everything Gibson puts up seeming to drop, even a couple of triples.

Taj ‘Mr. Clean’ Gibson will be a vital glue guy all season for this meshing Timberwolves squad, and he is showing his true value early, leading to a nice little bump in the power rankings for him.
