2. Jimmy Butler (2)

Season stats: 36.2 MPG – 16.2 PPG – 5.1 RPG – 4.7 APG – 42% FG – 30.8% 3PT – 87.1% FT

Weekly stats: 36.9 MPG – 19.0 PPG – 4.7 RPG – 6.7 APG – 39% FG – 28.6% 3PT – 88.5% FT

Jimmy Butler’s adjustment period rolled on this week, with the 3x All-Star struggling to decide between passing and scoring Jimmy Buckets.

Butler, like most of the Timberwolves that night, couldn’t keep up with the Warriors.

He followed it up with ‘scoring Jimmy’ going 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, but doing so in inefficient fashion, going just 5-17 from the field.

His 21 points and 10 assists in Utah marked his first double-double in a Timberwolves jersey, and his 6-12 shooting reminded every Wolves fan that Butler does still have the ability to make shots, he just needs time to find his feet still.

Even with his toes barely in the cold Minnesota water, it is obvious how much Butler brings to this team. His ability to make plays and score all while being the best defender on the Wolves roster is a testament to his value on this team.

A small slip in the rankings for Jimmy G. Buckets, but you can be sure he will be fighting his way back up soon enough.
