As the season rolls on, so do the power rankings for Dunking With Wolves, a weekly series that will examine the best performers for the week and overall forthe Minnesota Timberwolves season.

It seemed like a great power rankings week was ahead of us after the stout defensive effort over the San Antonio Spurs and the come from behind victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

But as we have seen this season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the joyful highs are followed by painful lows.

The Wolves snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at home against Detroit, before being blown out in Charlotte the following day. That caused the Wolves to finish at 2-2 for the week and 10-7 on the year.

Although the record was still good for fifth in the Western Conference — a sight Timberwolves fans have longed to see for well over a decade now — it still feels like there was a potential momentum boost that was squandered over the course of the week. (The Wolves have since beaten Orlando, which vaulted them into third in the West.)

Jimmy Butler‘s potential game-tying missed free throw is a highlight many fans will quickly want to forget so we won’t subject you to that.

It did feel a lot like this Butler highlight would have felt for the Pistons, however.

As well as the team ups and downs, the players themselves had their fair share of inconsistencies this week.

Multiple players showcased their best, and their worst sides in all four games, so let’s dive in to the power rankings and see who were the winners, and the losers in this Wolves week.
