It’s early on in the 2017-18 season, but it’s never too early to look at the next off-season’s free agents that Tom Thibodeau and his Minnesota Timberwolves should target in the forthcoming summer.

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ 2017-18 season is still young and the Wolves sit currently with a comfortable 13-10 record.

However, Minnesota still has some glaring rotational deficiencies that need to be fixed if this team wants to continue its ascension to one of the Western Conference’s best squads. These fixes won’t be easy to come across on the trade market, so coach and President Of Basketball Operations (POBO) Tom Thibodeau may have to wait it out until after the season.

The most problematic position for Thibs and his Timberwolves is likely the reserve small forward position where Shabazz Muhammad – the incumbent holder of the position –  has struggled severely this season.

More from Dunking with Wolves

Bazz is averaging 4.0 points per game on 38.5 percent shooting from the field and under 21.1 percent shooting from behind the 3-point line.

With no shortage of quality wing free agents coming up this summer, Thibs will have a wide variety of players to convince to come and keep the winning going in Minnesota.

With a majority of the cap assumed to be tied up in this summer’s $148 million extending of Andrew Wiggins, the impending (and similar) extension of Karl-Anthony Towns and Jimmy Butler‘s pockets, the Timberwolves must find some quality low-budget options.

Let’s have a look at some of the finest that will be out there come summer 2018.
