5. Garrett Temple (SG/SF – Player Option)

Season averages: 25.3 MPG – 8.2 PPG – 2.3 RPG – 1.6 APG – 38.6% FG – 40.5% 3PT – 77.8% FT

Garrett Temple may be shooting below 40 percent this season from the field, but his ability to drain the long ball from the 2 or the 3 position is exactly what the Timberwolves need from their reserves.

With Tyus Jones, Nemanja Bjelica, Jamal Crawford and Gorgui Dieng all able to knock down 3’s, adding another backup wing who can shoot will be vital to this Minnesota bench, which, despite the shooting prowess, has still struggled to produce consistently so far.

Temple would slot into this line-up nicely, and cheaply too.

The $8 million that Temple is owed from the Sacramento for this season is a solid deal, and he may be willing to take even less if it means leaving a poor Kings team and joining a rising team like the Timberwolves.

Temple is having a career-year after being given his chance this year in Sacramento, averaging career-highs in points, 3-point attempts and makes and blocks.

Temple may be an under-the-radar free agent signing if the Wolves were to nab him this coming offseason, but his strengths would give the Timberwolves a huge boost of the pine.
