Minnesota Timberwolves game preview: Dec. 6 at Los Angeles Clippers
Major key for Minnesota: Get Karl-Anthony Towns involved
Over the last ten games, there has been a concerning trend in Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ offensive game.
Minnesota has struggled to get Towns touches and shots in his sweet spots, leading to a weakened offensive game without arguably its biggest weapon firing on all cylinders.
In the ten game span, Towns is shooting just 13.6 shots per game, converting those shots at a 48.5 percent clip which is unusually low for him (he stroked his 14.7 attempts per game at 54.3 percent before the stretch).
In comparison, the red-hot Jimmy Butler has averaged 17.1 shots per contest, and Andrew Wiggins has put up 15.8, according to NBA stats.
The stretch has even caused some Wolves heads to question what is happening behind the scenes in the Twin Cities.
Against a tough defender like Jordan, it’ll be a battle for Towns, but if he gets fed by his teammates and comes out on top, it will be huge to put any doubt to bed about Towns and Tom Thibodeau.
