Let’s take a look at what the Minnesota Timberwolves starting five would look like if they added DeAndre Jordan
Breaking news: the Minnesota Timberwolves are not a perfect team.
In the same breath, there is no reason to panic. The Wolves are currently 15-11 and fourth in the Western Conference. Normally, at this point in the season, we are talking about a below .500 team. We had to find likable players and cheer for them no matter how bad the scores got and usually, they were pretty bad.
One of the reasons for concern, however, has been the defensive side of the court. The Wolves are on the bottom half of most defensive rankings. According to NBA.com/stats , they are 18th in opponents 3-pointers made (10.6). The Tom Thibodeau coached team is also 25th in opponent’s field goals made (41.1) while being 17th in opponent’s field goals attempted (85). They most telling stat of all for the Timberwolves defense is that they are letting opponents shooting 48.3 percent against them overall. That just so happens to be worst in the NBA.

I am not here just to badmouth the squad, I do have a solution. It just so happens that a certain rim protecting center has been on the trading block. Even better for Wolves fans, it has been reported that the Timberwolves are an interested team. In case you didn’t read the title of the article, I’m talking about DeAndre Jordan. His addition would be huge to a squad that already has tons of talent.
In a trade, it is normally commonplace that both teams give up players. The players I am assuming are headed to LA for Jordan are Cole Aldrich and Gorgui Dieng along with the first round pick Minnesota got in the Ricky Rubio trade. While that might not seem like a lot, look at what the teams giving up stars in trades this offseason got
