Minnesota Timberwolves starting five with DeAndre Jordan
By Max Neuhaus
SF: Andrew Wiggins
Among all the starters on this hypothetical new starting five, Andrew Wiggins is the player I am most worried about.
Bringing Jordan to the Twin Cities would essentially push Wigs into the fourth option. With all of the work he has put into this organization and him proclaiming he is for sure a max player, you wouldn’t think he would be very happy about moving down the food chain.
One thing most of us expected the former Jayhawk to improve on was his three-point shooting. Through seven games, it looked like that was the case. He was shooting 36.1 percent during that stretch from deep. Unfortunately, that has fallen in a big way. His average on the season is 31.5 percent and, over his last three games, he has hit only one of his last 10 three balls.
Wiggins is at his most comfortable as a slasher. We knew there could have been a problem with him and Butler both known as slashers. Add in a player who operates almost exclusively in the paint and it might get a little too clogged up.
I trust that Jimmy Buckets would be able to make the transition to cut down on his driving, but I’m not so sure about Wiggins.
