PF: Karl-Anthony Towns

If this trade were to happen, I think it would impact Karl-Anthony Towns the most.

First of all, it would improve the defense around the hoop. Towns’ defensive rating (the amount of points he would give up per 100 possessions) this season is at 109. While Jordan’s is at 108, he is in a different situation. DJ’s team has been hit hard by injuries and seems to be tanking without saying it. Putting him on a team with lengthy defenders in front of him like Wiggins and Butler would have a big impact.

Another point to take into account on the defensive end is who Towns will be guarding. It is no secret that KAT struggles against strong, physically dominant centers like Marc Gasol, Steven Adams, and even DJ himself. Allowing Jordan to take those matchups would allow Towns to slide and take on the normally more athletic power forward.

On the offensive side, the former Kentucky Wildcat has shown to be a willing passer out of the double team. With a lack of three-point shooting, teams have been forcing Towns to pass out of the post. If he is able to get the ball out to a wing player, due to rotations, either KAT or DJ would be pretty open for a shot/dunk in the paint.

Now it’s time to take a look at the main addition himself.
