Timberwolves Power Rankings: Wolves start to click for Christmas
7. Tyus Jones (6)
Season stats: 16.6 MPG – 4.1 PPG – 2.6 APG – 1.1 SPG – 46.7% FG – 42.9% 3PT – 83.3% FT
Weekly stats: 15.0 MPG – 5.0 PPG – 3.3 APG – 1.0 SPG – 60% FG – 40% 3PT – 100% FT
He may have dropped out of the power rankings sixth man position after three consecutive weeks of holding the title, but Tyus Jones continued to do his thing this week – keeping the offense humming and playing sneaky-good defense every minute he is on the floor.
Including his elite 1.1 steals per game, one of only two players doing so in under 17 minutes per game, to go along with the fact he only turned the ball over once over the course of the three games, with 10 assists(!).

To top it all off, the reserve point man has clearly put a ton of work into his shooting and finishing around the rim, and for the last few weeks we have seen the results truly paying off for Jones.
The Duke product is shooting career-highs across the board, with his 42.9 percent mark (63.2 percent in December) from 3-point distance putting him in the ‘don’t leave that man’ category.
Jones is undoubtedly one of the most efficient, effective backup point guards in the entire league, his slip in the power rankings came purely because of the blistering hot 37-year-old gem the Timberwolves are handling.
