Minnesota Timberwolves: 5 replacements for Jeff Teague
Minnesota Timberwolves will be without their starting point guard, Jeff Teague, for an indefinite amount of time. These are five candidates to replace him.
Jeff Teague went down in a freak incident on Wednesday night, when Gary Harris rolled up on his left leg shortly following a jump ball late in the fourth quarter. The action caused Teague to wither around in pain, slamming his fist on the Target Center floor.
Teague gingerly walked into the locker room and was seen limping around after the game. Thursday afternoon, Adrian Wojnarowski reported the MRI revealed no structural damage, but he sustained a left knee sprain.
While the timetable for Teague’s return is uncertain right now, what we do know is Minnesota must find a replacement for him. And fast.
Minnesota is right in the midst of a daunting stretch of games, including their second night of a back to back against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. Over their next 22 games through Feb. 7, the Timberwolves will face 15 teams who currently hold a winning record.

Most importantly, they will go through point guard hell with matchups against the likes of Eric Bledsoe (twice), Kyrie Irving, Jrue Holiday (twice), Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard (twice), Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry (twice), Stephen Curry and Dennis Schroder. That doesn’t even count the games against the Cleveland Cavaliers if Isaiah Thomas returns.
If the Timberwolves want any chance of surviving this tough stretch of games, they must discover a quick replacement for Teague. These five candidates are a mixture of obvious and not-so-obvious players who are all available around the league.
