After a long wait, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ final jerseys have been unveiled. But with a mixed reception to the new design, was it really worth the wait?

The Timberwolves have slowly been unveiling their new designs under new jersey manufacturers Nike, as I’ve been covering for quite a while.

With the Icon, Association and Statement edition jerseys now all in the Wolves’ on-court rotation, fans have been awaiting the arrival of the fourth and final design patiently.

After a recent delay in the jersey’s debut, Nike decided to keep fans waiting no longer, revealing a bunch of new jersey designs today, including the Timberwolves new grey jersey!

Titled the City Edition, the grey jerseys are designed to represent the wintery characteristics of Minnesota, with the pattern mimicking the hair of a wolf.

While the design is sleek and stands out from the other jerseys in the rotation, some fans have shown their distaste for the bland design on social media.

However, some Timberwolves’ fans thought the jerseys were exactly the look the Timberwolves’ needed. While my mind wasn’t made up on the jerseys just yet, it was nice to see some positivity that genuinely made me excited to see these jerseys hit the court.

Although the jerseys have finally been revealed, we won’t see them on the court until February 1st against the Bucks.

After their debut, the City Edition jerseys will be absent until April 5th when they are worn on back to back nights before they make their final regular-season appearance alongside the Wolves’ in our 82nd game of the season against the Nuggets.

For such a long wait, it seems strange for the final jersey to only be worn four times throughout the season, and while I’m still not over Nike’s lack of Christmas jerseys, I’m at least glad that the City Edition jerseys have a nice look to them.

Personally, I think Nike has taken on more than they can handle this season, with jerseys breaking, no Christmas Day editions, and delayed reveals/debuts of jerseys. I’m at least glad that our Timberwolves’ have their new look, with jersey designs that for the most part fit with the team and look good on the court.

With a mostly mixed reception of the new City Edition jerseys, fans will just have to wait and see what the new design looks like on the court early next year.
