2. Justin Patton and Dieng for Mirotic.

This trades gives us a little different look at a move for Mirotic and is the first one that doesn’t involve the Thunders first round pick.

Patton has played well for the G-League since recovering from a foot injury he suffered this Summer. He’s averaging 18.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per 36 minutes while shooting a questionable 44.9 percent from the floor.

Patton has one of the highest ceilings of any player drafted in the back-half of last year’s first round and has even been called Karl-Anthony Towns lite. He has the potential to develop a shooting game all the way to the three-point line and that would be great news for Chicago.

Dieng would also give them an immediate replacement for Mirotic in case they still have those delusional hopes of making a playoff run.

Just like the previous Dieng trade, Mirotic would slide in seamlessly to the bench and provide the second unit with a much-needed boost.
