Minnesota Timberwolves: Mid-season report card
The Minnesota Timberwolves have officially reached the halfway mark of the NBA season. Let’s grade everyone on their performance so far.
With the Minnesota Timberwolves having officially reached the halfway mark of the NBA season with a 25-16 record, it’s time to grade everyone on their roster.
Their record is the best they’ve had after 41 games since the 2003-04 season. That’s pretty remarkable considering where they were at just 365 days ago. Tom Thibodeau certainly deserves a lot of credit for the quick turnaround and the work he’s done in constructing the roster. Even if some (ESPN) have questions about their long-term build, Thibs has to be in the running for Executive of the year this season.
Jimmy Butler has been one of, if not the best transaction to happen in the Summer of 2017. His grit on both ends of the floor has been a great on-court demonstration for his younger teammates and he’s carried them to victory multiple times already this season.
Because of the short rotation, some players have had limited opportunities to show what they can do, but just about everyone who has played has had their shining moment. That’s great news for a team who hasn’t always seen players step up in big moments in the past.
Moving forward, the Timberwolves will need to continue to receive those types of contributions from players all across their roster.
