Minnesota Timberwolves: Mid-season report card
Jimmy Butler: A+
Jimmy Butler aka Jimmy G. Buckets aka The Bad Man.
Butler has been well worth the trade that saw Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen head to the Chicago Bulls on draft night.
Butler can do it all. He can guard the other teams best wing player, he can hit outside shots when needed, he can take it to the hole and draw a foul, or he can take over in the fourth quarter and overtime and single-handedly carry the Wolves to victory.
On the season, he’s averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals while shooting 46.8 percent from the field. The only knock against him has been his outside shooting which sits at 33.3 percent.
Despite the promise Markkanen and Dunn have shown, I don’t even want to think about where this team would be without Butler.
He will continue to be a great role model and leader for his teammates while producing at a high level on the court every single night. He’s also in the prime of his career and wants to win now so you know he’ll do whatever it takes.
