Now that 10-day contracts are in play, here is a list of five players the Minnesota Timberwolves should consider.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a great season thus far, currently sitting fourth in the Western Conference standings with an impressive 26-16 record. It’s hard to complain about this team knowing the recent past.
However, if we’re talking about things that we wish they could improve upon, then there are a few items needed. Bench scoring has been a problem for Minnesota this year; they currently rank 27th in the league, with an ugly 25.3 points per game. Adding another scorer off the bench would go a long way for this club.
One other area for improvement is 3-point shooting. Minnesota struggles to shoot the ball from long distance, ranking 29th in the league in 3-pointers made, 28th in attempts, and 25th in percentage. Adding a player that can help Minnesota would be very beneficial — especially considering the idea that a lot of the top teams in today’s game shoot the 3-ball with frequency.
One more bench related item: the Wolves rank No. 1 in the league in minutes played by the starters, averaging 35.3 points per game. The next closest team is the New Orleans Pelicans with an average of 32.7 minutes. Adding an extra player who can fill that role and simply use up quality minutes will be a solution moving forward if Minnesota wants to make a deep run in the playoffs.
For now, here are five players Minnesota should consider in an effort to help improve this already impressive squad.
