Timberwolves Power Rankings: Tough loss blemishes perfect week
6. Jamal Crawford (5)
Season stats: 18.9 MPG – 9.9 PPG – 1.2 RPG – 2.3 APG – 42.5% FG – 33.8% 3PT – 89.3% FT
Weekly stats: 19.4 MPG – 10.7 PPG – 1.3 RPG – 1.3 APG – 48.1% FG – 33.3% 3PT – 100% FT
After rising into the power rankings starting five for the first time in his Timberwolves career last week, Jamal Crawford returns to his plush, comfortable sixth man spot this time around.
It was still a productive week for J-Crossover, who is Tom Thibodeau’s go-to bench player when the Wolves need a quick bucket. A 17-year professional scorer, Crawford is the definition of a walking bucket.
Forever 21 started the week off with an efficient 8 points on 3-5 shooting, he also chipped in 2 rebounds and 2 assists to complement a good night. The 37-year-old has been guilty of some pretty horrific plus/minus numbers this season, but his +18 mark in the Milwaukee win will put a smile on every fans face.
Next up against the Pelicans, we got the less efficient version of Jamal Crawford, as his 8 points came on 3-9 shooting, including 1-4 from beyond the 3-point arc. As good a scorer as he is, J-Crossover is never going to be the most consistently efficient player, you have to take the good nights with the bad.
He did throw this bullet dime though, highlights are better than efficiency anyway, right?
The power rankings week ended on a high for the reserve guard, he put up 16 points on 7-13 shooting against the Cavaliers, adding another layer to what was an awesome offensive game to watch (the same cannot be said about defense). These are the Crawford games that Timberwolves fans live for as he provided a huge spark off the bench.
It will be interesting to see what Jamal Crawford we get next week.
