3. Thibodeau loves his old Bulls’ players.

Man, I hate the name “Timberbulls,” but unfortunately it’s a well-deserved nickname at this point. What with the acquisitions of Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson, and the past reported interest in Luol Deng, Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose.

Unfortunately, it appears as if the Rose rumor train is coming back around

Rose was traded to the Utah Jazz on Thursday as part of a three-team deal. Utah is reportedly going to buy him out, making him an unrestricted free agent and it’s also reported Rose and the Timberwolves (meaning Thibodeau) have mutual interest.

With Minnesota only able to offer the veteran’s minimum at this point, Rose could search for more money elsewhere. Unfortunately, he’s unlikely to secure anything other than what Minnesota can offer as he’s not a highly coveted player at this point in his career.

Even if we can’t all agree the world is round, we can agree Rose is bad for the Timberwolves, which is saying something.

He’s still a shoot-first, second and third, and pass only when he has no other options type point guard. He can’t knock down threes. He doesn’t play defense. Oh, and Minnesota already has Jeff Teague and Tyus Jones on the roster who are both better players than Rose.

Please, Thibs. We’ve had enough former Bulls players for now.
