Minnesota Timberwolves’ 2018 NBA Draft big board 1.0

3. Khyri Thomas, SG/SF, Creighton

At 6-foot-3, Khyri Thomas is yet another undersized combo guard that seem to be littering the draft this season. With that being said, he’s a bit further along in his development than some of the others, given he’s about to complete his third year of college.

Being more NBA ready is unquestionably going to be more attractive to Thibodeau and his scouting staff given their focus on winning now.

Even with his 6-foot-3 height, Thomas should be able to defend three positions in the NBA given his 6-foot-11 wingspan. That versatility is something the Timberwolves lack and would be a huge asset to their team. He’s also a dive-on-the-floor, not afraid to get dirty type player, also something Minnesota needs more of.

If Thomas is on the board when the Timberwolves are up, they’d be wise to select him, as they’d instantly become a tougher team.
