2. Can Andrew Wiggins effectively learn how to play as the third wheel?

Andrew Wiggins has experiences the biggest change of any player on the Timberwolves’ roster this season, going from scoring option 1B to the clear third wheel on the team. And oh, boy has he struggeled.

At 17.7 points per game, he’s averaging the least amount of points since his rookie season. Unforuntately, it gets worse, as he’s shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from downtown, both steps back from last season.

Although he’s immensley talented and has great potential, he lacks the killer instinct most star players have in this league. Just watch the next time he lightly lays the ball through the hoop when he has an opportunity to throw down a monster yam.

If he can learn to play off the ball, Wiggins can become one of the greatest third wheels the game has ever seen. This means his catch-and-shoot percentages need to skyrocket and he also needs to stop watching with his hands on the hips. He’s one of the best cutters in the game, but does it all too infrequently.
