Minnesota Timberwolves: 10 burning questions
7. Will Tom Thibodeau experiment with different lineups?
Tom Thibodeau has been stubborn with the lineups he’s assembled for the Timberwolves, typically sticking with a predictiable lineup of guys throughout games.
For instance, we know Towns is usually going to be one of the first starters subbed out of the game and Andrew Wiggins will almost always play the entire first quarter and get the first shot with the second unit.
We also know, he’d never play Jones and Jeff Teague together despite Jones having tremendous success sharing the court with Kris Dunn last season.
All I’m saying is, there are 19,680 minutes to be allocated throughout an 82-game season. Why can’t Thibodeau try some new combinations of players to see if they work? If they fail miserably, that’s what, ten minutes wasted of the nearly 20,000? On the other hand, if it’s a huge sucess, you look like a genius and have found something new. It’s worth a try Thibs.
