4. Will Taj Gibson continue his stellar play?

By almost every statistical measurement, Taj Gibson is having one of the best years of his career. He’s second in points per game (12.1), second in rebounds per game (7.3), second in assists per game (1.3), first in steals (0.8) and first in field goal percentage (57.2).

I hate to say it, but chances are this stellar play will drop at least a little bit as the season goes on, but hopefully, it continues since we are already three-fourths of the way through the season.

All in all, Gibson has been better than anyone expected when he signed with the team last summer. And it’s not just his measurable offensive statistics that are great, he’s also been one of the, if not the, best defender the Timberwolves have.

He can defend centers and power forwards and switch onto wings after pick-and-rolls when necessary. Although he frequently gives up baskets in these situations, he at least makes the offensive player work for their shot.

If his stellar play can continue thorughout the last couple of months, it will mean great things for the Timberwolves.
