Season stats: 33.1 MPG – 12.9 PPG – 7.1 APG – 1.5 SPG – 44% FG – 37.3% 3PT – 81.2% FT

Three weeks ago, Jeff Teague plateaued to eighth position in the power rankings after a string of horrendous games. Now, the point guard has entered the winners podium for the first time this year, albeit in bronze placing.
He deserves it too.
The 29-year-old started with a quiet-but-efficient night in Chicago, posting nine points (4-8 FG, 1-1 3PT) and five assists in a game where he was often cast aside from the dribbling duties by a revenge-mode Jimmy Butler.
Teague kept his low volume-high efficiency game going in Sacramento against the Kings, but this time he took it to another level. He hit four of his five field goals, including 1-of-2 from long range for his 12 points and dished out 10 assists with just two turnovers.
Teague has started to look a lot more comfortable in the offense of late, and although he still hesitates far too often on 3-point attempts – especially since he is a good shooter – his ability to create scoring opportunities and break down the defense with nifty passing is extremely valuable.
With his shot falling again, the point guard turned the jets on against the Rockets. Finishing with 25 points (10-15 FG, 2-3 3PT), five rebounds and eight assists in what was possibly he best game in a Timberwolves jersey.
Houston clearly hadn’t game planned for Teague, he took over from the get-go. Both the shot and the pass looked money, and ‘JT0’ was even playing some really nice defense for long stretches. It was disappointing the Wolves couldn’t reward him with a win.
Let’s hope that Jeff Teague can keep his form going after the All-Star Break.
