Overal Grade EVEN

Marcus Georges-Hunt is playing his second season in the league. He played his first season with the Orlando Magic and played a total of five games. The sample size of games played the previous seasons makes this statical evaluation virtually irrelevant.

He’s down in all four statistical areas being judged but that’s not a true reflection of his effort.

He receives an EVEN grade and here’s why.

He’s contributed to 34 games this season which seven times more games than played last season.

He earned his playing time based on his defensive skill-set, not his offensive mastery.

MGH has seen an increase in minutes throughout the season with only a recent dip occurring in the number of minutes played in February which aligns with when the team has struggled.

Has the team struggles been the reason he hasn’t seen more minutes or is his reduction in minutes a reflection of the teams 5-5 record over the last ten games? We don’t know but it’s safe to believe he’ll get more opportunities in years to come, but it’s too early to determine his true value and abilities.
