Cole Aldrich

Cole Aldrich Minutes 10.2 2.2 DOWN
Center Points 3.2 0.6 DOWN
29 Years Old Assists 0.5 0.1 DOWN
8th season Rebounds 3.4 0.5 DOWN

Minnesota Bloomington Jefferson product Cole Aldrich is completing his eighth season in the league at 29-years old. He’s completing the second season of a three year $21.9 million dollar contract with the Timberwolves. He’s one of President of Timberwolves Operations Tom Thibodeau earliest free agency signing.

He’s playing the fewest number of minutes of his entire career while banking approximately seven times more salary than his previous contract with the Clippers. His second season (second lowest minutes) he played 6.2 minutes which three times more than this season (2.2).

Naturally, his other numbers are all abysmal. His field-goal and free-throw percentages are at all times lows.

He also maybe afflicted with small ball syndrome where big men’s feet and hands struggle to keep up with little guys command of the ball.

His grade is DOWN, DOWN, DOWN and it’s too bad because he’s one of our own.

He’s a good Minnesotan, standup citizen that contributes to the community in many ways.  He’s hopefully saving human lives and curing blindness when he’s off the court at a more than $7 million hit to the salary cap.

Timberwolves can waive Aldrich by June 20, 2018, and only be liable for $2 million of his contract next year. It seems likely the Twolves will choose that option which will create an opportunity for Cole Aldrich to be a good citizen for another team.
