5. Minnesota Doesn’t Sign Anyone

There have been rumors that have been swirling the atmosphere that the Wolves could possibly make a move. There are a lot of enticing players that could spark some interest in the eyes of the organization, but by the end of the day, Minnesota won’t make any moves.

Rumors spilled out quickly as soon as Derrick Rose was traded to the Utah Jazz, as he would soon be released. A few days later it was reported that there was mutual interest, but nothing was going to come of it.

There are plenty of options in the open market right now, but adding them doesn’t necessarily benefit the team. Owner of the Wolves, Glen Taylor appeared on Darren Wolfson’s podcast (if you haven’t yet or never have, please take a listen – you won’t regret it); he basically stated that they won’t make any moves just to make a move. They have an open roster spot available but they aren’t in any sort of rush to make any moves.

As head coach of the Wolves, Tom Thibodeau likes to say: “we’ll see. We’re always looking for ways to improve”. Any move they make isn’t going to be a sign that suddenly propels them to the second or first seed. I’m sure no one expects anyone to come out of the Western Conference gauntlet other than the Golden State Warriors or the Houston Rockets.

I don’t expect the team to make any further moves till the offseason. The team needs more 3-point shooting and defense but no one on the market is going to change that overnight.
