Season stats: 35.2 MPG – 20.3 PPG – 12.3 RPG – 1.5 BPG – 54.5% FG – 41.3% 3PT – 86.1% FT

Weekly stats: 35.0 MPG – 19.0 PPG – 15.3 RPG – 1.5 BPG – 48.1% FG – 11.1% 3PT – 92% FT

Last week the man was back in Towns at first position, and this week Karl-Anthony Towns holds his number one spot in the power rankings with another stretch of great outings.

The big man averaged 28.4 points on 59.2 percent shooting and grabbed 12.9 rebounds per game when Zach LaVine went down with his ACL tear last season, and he is in prime position to do something similar as he takes the lion’s share of Jimmy Butler’s would-be shots.

He started off with a poor shooting night, however, going just 2-9 from the field for his 10 points against L.A., he did grab a massive 18 rebounds, give out 4 helpers and block 2 shots to help the box score forgive his poor scoring output.

KAT put up 18 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists against the Rockets, finishing with a plus-minus of negative 6 in the 18 point loss. His work on the glass again standing out as it does so often these days, Towns is averaging over 13 rebounds since the start of 2018:

The 7-footer kept it rolling with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists in the Bulls victory before exploding for another 26 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks in a dominant showing over his former Kentucky buddy Willie Cauley-Stein and the Sacramento Kings.

With the season well and truly on the line, it will be up to the power rankings sheriff to shoulder the load and break this playoff drought.
