5. Jamal Crawford (6)

Season stats: 19.3 MPG – 10.2 PPG – 2.3 APG – 0.5 SPG – 42% FG – 35.1% 3PT – 89.1% FT

Weekly stats: 24.3 MPG – 13.5 PPG – 2.5 APG – 0.3 SPG – 38.8% FG – 42.9% FG – 80% FT

As usual, Jamal Crawford propped the entire bench scoring up this week, this time with enough impact to raise himself into the power rankings starting five.

J-Crossover may be one of the least consistent plus-minus, on-off and advanced statistics performers in the entire NBA, but there is no doubting that the 37-year-old has an innate ability to hit huge, timely buckets.

He started out hot with 15 points and 3 assists against Los Angeles, nailing 6-11 from the field and 2-6 from long range, including putting former Timberwolves fan favorite Corey Brewer on an island of crossovers and loneliness:

Next up was the Rockets, and despite dropping a healthy 14 points, Crawford shot just 5-16 on the night (3-7 3PT) and failed to dish out an assist on the night. A testament to the lack of offensive punch the Wolves experienced in the loss.

With Jimmy Butler missing, J-Crossover caught fire in Target Center against Zach LaVine and the Bulls, hitting 5-8 from long range to finish with 19 points and 3 assists. The five triples mark a season-high for Crawford who has been a menace from beyond 3 lately.

He finished off his week on a more quiet note, posting just 6 points and 4 assists against the Kings, capping off what was an impressive week. Crawford may have his cold stretches and rough shooting nights, but his influence on this underwhelming bench is undeniable.

Let’s hope for more hot nights on the final stretch of the 2017-18 regular season.
