2. Jeff Teague (3)

Season stats: 33.2 MPG – 13.5 PPG – 7.0 APG – 1.5 SPG – 44.4% FG – 37.6% 3PT – 82.5% FT

Weekly stats: 34.2 MPG – 20.8 PPG – 6.0 APG – 1.8 SPG – 48.1% FG – 40% 3PT – 89.3% FT

When Jeff Teague free-fell to the eighth spot in the power rankings a few weeks back after a cataclysmic night against the Hawks, it would’ve been mad to suggest he would be in second place at all throughout the season.

Let alone just a few weeks later.

The 29-year-old picked up where he left off in our last rankings, posting an efficient 20 points on 6-9 shooting (2-3 3PT) while dishing out 6 assists against the Lakers. Following that up with another 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-2 FT) 4 assists and 2 steals against Houston.

Teague has been in attack mode driving to the rim lately and seems far less hesitant when shooting his 3-point attempts, which is good considering he is shooting 48.3 percent since the beginning of February. This type of attacking JT0 is the exact type of player the Wolves need right now.

The fun didn’t stop there though, as the point guard posted perhaps his best Timberwolves game in the Chicago win. He went off to the tune of 25 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and a block in an emphatic performance which included a sneak peek of some Teague bunnies:

Despite shooting just 4-14 on the night, the eight-year pro was still great in the final game of the power rankings week against the Kings. He still had 20 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals whilst netting 11-12 from the line and posting a solid 104.9 defensive rating.

If Teague can keep up this sort of play, the Timberwolves have more than fighter’s chance to maintain a top-four playoff seeding.
