The Denver Nuggets are on a three game winning streak and the Minnesota Timberwolves have lost two in a row. Both teams are fighting for playoff contention; this is not a great sign for the Wolves.

The current Western Conference standings are a mess, there are seven teams fighting for five spots with close to equal talent. There isn’t any breathing room for the Timberwolves as they finish up their last four games of the regular season.

Their last four games are not a walk in the park, they include – Denver Nuggets (away), Los Angeles Lakers (away), Memphis Grizzlies, and the Denver Nuggets once again. If the Timberwolves can win their next two games against the Nuggets and Lakers, they’ll be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

There may be a problem, the Nuggets and Timberwolves are statistically two of the more similar teams in the NBA, with two extremely similar stars.

With Minnesota’s defensive rating being .2 better than Denver’s, we can only assume that this will be an offensive masterpiece of a game. Therefore, our key player should be obvious.
