Take Game One or Two On the Road

Winning on the road is crucial for any underdog team in the playoffs. This is even more so the case for the Wolves.

On the road this year, the Wolves were 17-24 — the second-worst away record among all 16 playoff teams. At home, the Rockets finished the year 34-7, tied for the best home record among all 16 playoff teams.

By stealing Game One or Game Two on the road, the Wolves can do a couple things. One, they will prove they belong in the playoffs. In this situation it will be very impressive for the Wolves to chalk up a win before heading home.

Two, it will allow them to go home, where they are 30-11, and have the chance to take a 3-1 lead going back to Houston for a potential Game 5.

Winning at home will be just as hard, of course, as the Rockets are 31-10 on the road. However, if Wednesday night’s victory proved one thing it’s that the Target Center will as energized as ever. That clearly works in the Wolves advantage and would be a dream scenario for the team if they want to take down the Rockets.
