#4 – Wolves beat Hawks behind Towns’ career night
Karl-Anthony Towns scored a career-high and franchise-record 56 points in a must-win down the stretch of the regular season. He also had 15 rebounds and shot 6-of-8 from 3-point range while connecting on 12 of 15 free throw attempts.
Towns seemingly couldn’t miss, and when Atlanta was hanging close down the stretch, Towns once again pressed the pedal to the floor and vaulted Minnesota to victory.
This was one of the final games before Butler’s return and right after the worse loss of the season to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Wolves were scuffling to a .500 mark with their superstar out of the lineup and needed Towns to step-up big against a bad Hawks team. He did just that with a monster performance.
Andrew Wiggins chipped in with 17 points and Nemanja Bjelica had 14 points and six rebounds in the win.
