#1 – LeBron James

Why not start with the best? The addition of LeBron James would boost the Timberwolves into the upper echelon of the NBA universe.

Did you know the last time James missed the playoffs was in his second year in the league? That’s 13 consecutive years that ‘The King’ has made a visit to the NBA postseason, something we’d willingly support here in Minnesota.

Speculation of James’ future has of course been the talk of the town pretty much every season for his career. His player option in Cleveland next year is worth a cool $35 million, more than he’d be making in Minnesota, but it’s not about money for The King.

Rumors swirl about a trip to the Lakers, perhaps returning to Miami or starting fresh somewhere new. The only person that knows at this point in James himself, but Minnesota can do their best to make a push.

The tweet below perfectly describes the Timberwolves’ position, and James could cement himself as the best player to ever dress in Minnesota colors, along with Kevin Garnett.

With James, the Timberwolves could certainly become a contender in the Western Conference, and something as impressive as this years’ eighth-place finish would be a total disappointment for next season.

For the record, James averaged 27.5 points, 9.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 8.6 rebounds this season and dragged a roster far beneath the caliber of the Wolves’ to the Finals. Not a bad season….
