Right away from this picture of Devonte’ Graham and his Head Coach for Kansas, you should be able to tell that this point guard actually cares about the game. Showing emotion seems to be a characteristic that a lot of the new NBA players seem to lack, luckily Graham doesn’t fall short in that category.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are in dire need of young depth on their team, but not prospects, there is a difference. Leaders that stay at their school until they graduate so they can win for their University is the exact type of player the Wolves are desperate for.

Not everyone can find a Malcom Brogdon type player this late in the draft, but the Wolves would have that here with, Graham. This 6’2″ 185 pound guard has the ability to do it all on the court and leave no regrets as he leaves it. With the 20th and 48th pick in the draft, Devonte’ Graham could go to the Timberwolves for either of those picks.

What he lacks in intangibles and athleticism, Graham makes up for it by bringing experience that creates a winning foundation and culture around him. Unlike a certain point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves who hasn’t played for too many winning teams, Jeff Teague.

Below we have some of Graham’s statistics and videos of his play and personality.

Height: 6’2”, Weight: 185, Age: 23
Statistics: 17.3 PPG, 7.2 APG

What you can take from this video is how Devonte’ Graham is so incredibly humble, but I feel where he thrives is his potential to build a winning culture. He is the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year, and his athleticism jumps out of the screen, as it does above.

Mike Schmitz gives an analytical perspective of Graham and his play, and often compares him to some of the more athletic guards in the NBA, especially the ones with great stamina.

Graham is ready to go to work as a 23 year old and this would be a great move for the Wolves to add a guy with experience and potential at the guard position.
