A player that should be on the Minnesota Timberwolves radar is Chandler Hutchison. Here’s a look at the forward’s draft profile.

The NBA Draft is on June 21st, and we’re continuing our series previewing which players the Minnesota Timberwolves could be targeting ahead of the draft. One player that’s most certainly on their radar is Chandler Hutchison.

The forward out of Boise State surely impresssed in his four years. His first two seasons were not outstanding, but with more minutes and time to develop, Hutchison showed out.

In his final season at Boise State, he averaged 20.0 points per game, 7.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.3 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.

He shot the ball at a 47.5 percent clip from the field and 35.9 percent from 3-point range on 4.1 attempts per game. And he developed his long range shot. In his first two seasons, he never attempted over one three per game. He up-ticked it to about two in his junior year, until finally reaching four in his senior year.

Hutchison is a player that will fill the stat sheet. Scoring a high amount of points, grabbing rebounds and getting others involved is some of his strengths. His 6′-7″, 197 pound frame allows him to have an advantage against his opponents, and his wingspan also measures at 7′-1″.

Hutchison is a little older because he spent four years in college. Of course, that also meant that he was able to develop more and become one of the more NBA ready prospects in this draft.

He’s not a flashy player, nor does he have the same amount of potential as some of the other prospects. We do know that sometimes the more NBA ready player becomes a better player in the NBA.

He has the length, but will need to add more muscle on his body. He’s still very skinny and at almost 200 pounds, he may get pushed around by some of the other bigger guards or fowards.

One thing you’ll notice in his highlights is how well he’s able to move in the open floor. His size allows him to move like a gazelle in the open court. If the Wolves are looking to add a player who could become a solid NBA player and a potential 3-and-D type talent, then Hutchison is their guy.

He should be available at No. 20, but some other teams ahead of him may find his NBA readiness a better option than a project player. If he’s still there, Minnesota should take a hard look at the Bronco.
