Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. F. KK Cedevita. DZANAN MUSA. 23. player. 100

Height: 6’9″, Weight: 190, Age: 18
Statistics: 12.4 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 47.6% FG

Dzanan Musa is a really intruging pick at no. 23 for the Indiana Pacers. Playing with KK Cedevita against European talent has been Musa’s life over the past few years – and easily the best international prospect next to Luka Doncic.

His height at the shooting guard or small forward position will create problems for opposing defenders, and it’s possible he’s still growing. Size won’t be the problem for this offensive star though, it’ll be the weight issue and his struggle to keep up against NBA defenders.

Musa played extremely well in Europe, so maybe we can cut him some slack here. The ceiling for the type of player Musa could turn into would be a – breathe for me – Kevin Durant type player. Musa has the talent and size to outsize his opponents, but most likely he’ll turn out to play like a Bojan Bodganovic type, which isn’t bad at all.

Before you go to the comment section and complain that I compared Dzanan Musa to a Kevin Durant type player, go ahead and watch this film of Musa at 18 years old and then watch Durant or Paul George, eerily similar.

The Pacers offense needs a guy to come off the bench while Oladipo is resting, and this could be a great way to start building that bench, Musa is a must pick for Indy. Musa could go earlier, possibly around 18-22, but hopefully he can fall enough to this franchise.

Could this be the international surprise of the decade?
