The Minnesota Timberwolves are now sitting in a deeper Western Conference with the recent LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan moves. This would be the time to make a trade or two so your team can keep up – you would hope so at least.

The Western Conference will force the Minnesota Timberwolves out of the top-8 seeding if they don’t decide to make some moves really soon. Moreover, with the fear Jimmy Butler won’t re-sign next summer, you have to give him a reason to stay besides the money.

The rotation of the current Timberwolves roster as assembled is a top-ten team in the West, but it’s ridiculous to say that they are a shoe-in for the playoffs when looking at the standings last season.

The only two teams that are solidified to have a playoff run are the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets.

So if the point in the NBA is to win a championship, why would you keep your team as currently constructed if you’re not the Warriors or Rockets? Understandably, Wolves’ fans won’t want to move any of their pieces or draft picks, but it’s necessary to win right now.

There aren’t a lot of rumors surrounding All-Star’s being unhappy, but we’ve seen so many teams in the past few years trade their superstars for smaller pieces and draft picks, so it could definitely happen.

Whether it was DeMar DeRozan, Kawhi Leonard, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, or even Jimmy Butler, there is a strong possibility the Wolves could add one more All-Star.

Who has to go in order for Minnesota to find the talent they need to add their names next to the Warriors and the Rockets?
