With these Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler rumors surfacing all over New York Knicks media, you can imagine Boston making the move early for Butler to join their squad.

Gordon Hayward is coming off a saddening injury from the Celtics first game last season, but that wouldn’t hold the Celtics back from making a cold decision (a la Isaiah Thomas).

The Celtics would add Butler to their backcourt of Irving and keep Tatum and Brown at their wings with Al Horford under the basket. Giving the Celtics an almost perfect team. Boston would also receive Taj Gibson who is one of the more reliable big men around the league, off the bench or in the starting lineup.

The Timberwolves get a somehow underrated All-Star in Gordon Hayward, even coming off injury he has the potential to have another All-Star season. Much like our past moves, this trade would allow Hayward and Wiggins to play off one another in so many fun offensive sets from the guard to the forward position.

Morris would undoubtedly play the power forward position and give the Timberwolves more breathing room from outside the arc, especially with Anthony Tolliver coming off the bench.

The 2019 first round pick is just a cherry on top for Minnesota, who should absolutely do this deal if it comes across Thibs desk. Not sure Brad Stevens and co. would do this, but who knows what the Celtics would do to keep Kyrie in Boston.

Worst case scenario: Deal gets done, but both guys go to New York. Ouch.
