While its been said that Courtney Lee wants out of New York, I’ll do him one better. I’ll get your competition out of New York.

Sending Tim Hardaway Jr. to Minnesota was not an easy move, and definitely doesn’t do much for the Wolves, but this move makes way too much sense for New York. The Knicks also would send their 2nd year point guard Frank Ntilikina to Minnesota in return for a young potential guard in Tyus Jones.

The 2019 Unprotected first round pick to Minnesota is what tops of the trade for the Wolves, who desperately need a lottery pick in exchange for Butler.

Jimmy has been rumored to want to play in New York and it makes a lot of sense to send him packing now while he wants out. The Knicks won’t move their unicorn and definitely want Kyrie to come next summer, so why wouldn’t you try and get Jimmy now?

The Knicks wouldn’t be great right away, but they could potentially build something really special with a few moves to create more depth on this roster.

Minnesota needs more breathing room with Butler gone, and this creates it.
