If the Spurs could make this happen they would have a lot of new fans coming there way this offseason.

With trading for DeMar DeRozan and essentially getting a free All-Star out of him by trading Kawhi Leonard who didn’t play for the playoff Spurs last year, adding Jimmy Butler would be insane for the organization.

Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio front office would be all over this deal, even if it meant to give up their fan favorite rookie Lonnie Walker IV – who analysts are really high on for this upcoming season.

If your the Timberwolves this deal isn’t terrible, you get assets in the form of draft picks and you get a young stud shooting guard who’s looking to make a name for himself on a rookie contract. Pau Gasol was thrown in for contract reasons, but even he could make some plays off the bench for Minnesota, at least more than Gorgui Dieng did last year.

Overall, not a bad move for the Wolves, but they could definitely do better – hopefully. If you’re the Spurs, this move should be made as soon as possible, playing DeRozan and Butler off of eachother sounds like a nightmare for defenses across the league.
