The New Orleans Pelicans need to do their best to try and keep Anthony Davis, and losing DeMarcus Cousins definitely didn’t help that situation.
How do you make up for it? Trade for 4-time All-Star Jimmy Butler and make a run for it in the West. With a backcourt of Jrue Holiday and Jimmy Butler and having Anthony Davis under the basket, the potential on both sides of the court is just too much fun to ignore.
The Timberwolves would be getting sharpshooter Nikola Mirotic to help spread the floor, moving Andrew Wiggins to his natrual position at shooting guard.
E’Twaun Moore would come off the bench next to Tyus Jones or Derrick Rose to spread the floor with newly acquired Anthony Tolliver, creating a more verstaile offense for the Wolves. And finally center Cheick Diallo makes Gorgui Dieng’s contract expendable if anyone will take it.
And possibly the best part of the deal, the 2019 unprotected first round pick makes up for any losses the Wolves may get from their potential new players in this deal.
All in all, this is one of my favorite trades and one that I think both teams could thrive off of.
Next up are the Denver Nuggets, who are quietly becoming one of the best teams in the NBA.
