Best friends Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic from the Los Angeles Clippers get sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Jimmy Butler in this blockbuster deal.
The second round pick is the cherry on top for Wolves and a lot like the Nuggets deal this is one of the better case scenarios.
Tobias Harris and Andrew Wiggins wouldn’t help too much on the defensive end of the court, but having that size on both the wing positions would help regardless.
Marjanovic would also let the Wolves shop Gorgui Dieng’s contract to save some money over the next few summers, and this even makes Butler happy by completing his demands of sending him to one of this 3 potential favorite teams.
Jimmy Butler and Lou Williams on the Clippers would definitely be a popular place to play for some All-Stars looking for a new home next summer, so that’s a plus for LA. Guys like Klay Thompson are the hope for the Clippers next summer if they can retain Jimmy Butler on a long-term deal.
The Clippers are still in dire need of a center after the DeAndre Jordan departure and Danilo Gallinari is also not a done deal at the power forward position.
This isn’t one of my favorite deals, mostly because it’s like having two Andrew Wiggins on the same team for the Timberwolves, but it’s better than most we’ve seen.
The final team and destination for Butler will be the Los Angeles Lakers to team up with LeBron James, excited?
