Minnesota Timberwolves: Tom Thibodeau is the ‘expletive’ in a ‘expletive’

Before you comment on the inappropriateness of our title, Miami Heat’s Pat Riley supposedly called Tom Thibodeau a ‘motherf–ker’ at the end of trade discussions this past weekend for Jimmy Butler. We’ve also seen reports of Kevin Garnett calling this whole situation a ‘s–t storm,’

As you probably know, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that Jimmy Butler went on a tirade at the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ practice. More reports have come out, as well as Rachel Nichols interview with Butler, that he may have gone a little too far.

However, aside from the Butler insanity, we have someone else who seems to be angry at the Timberwolves front office.

Pat Riley of the Miami Heat.

ESPN reporter Jorge Sedano illustrates some of the Jimmy Butler drama below:

"Via, Yahoo Sports“There’s been a couple of different incarnations of this deal. The first one, the Heat didn’t want to take back Gorgui Dieng. Then, the next incarnation of the deal was ‘OK forget it, let’s just do it straight up, just for Jimmy on your end.’ They finally relented on Josh Richardson. They were giving them Josh Richardson, then Dion Waiters was going to be the cap filler and then a protected first-round pick. The medicals were exchanged, which generally in the NBA means this is a done deal. And then, Thibs called back and wanted more picks. And Pat Riley literally — I was told — called him a motherbleeper and hung up the phone.”"

So essentially Tom Thibodeau has frustrated some of the biggest names in sports to the point where they cannot find better adjectives to describe Thibs besides using curse words. I honestly find that refreshing for all the words I’ve had in my mind to describe Thibs over the past few months.

What does this mean for the future of Jimmy Butler in Minnesota? Still not sure.

If Tom Thibodeau truly disrupted future trade conversations with Pat Riley in Miami, the Wolves may have to turn to the Houston Rockets as their main suitor for the 4-time All-Star. Whether we like Eric Gordon or not, unless the team decides to keep a frustrated $20 million dollar man on board a sinking ship.

Yahoo Sports has also reported that the Timberwolves had an all player meeting yesterday when they found out that practice was supposedly cancelled. Jeff Teague denied these reports via Twitter, with intensity.

And finally, to top off the craziness, we have former-Timberwolves All-Star Kevin Garnett weighing in on this situation with Minnesota’s own, Jon Krawczynski:

Calling the Timberwolves Butler/Thibodeau saga a ‘s–t storm’ is probably the most well said thing over the past few months by any NBA source. Everything is really public now, as Garnett states, so the only possible scenario we can envision happening here is that Jimmy Butler gets traded before the season starts in four days.

Jimmy Butler in a Miami Heat jersey seems like the best possibility and I wouldn’t rule out the Houston Rockets … or quite possibly 27 other teams.

Time will tell in Minnesota.
