This may seem like a light haul for Minnesota, but it does a pretty good job of rounding out the roster. It’s been reported that the Rockets were offering something close to Eric Gordon and a first, this deal probably gives Minnesota more to work with.

Robert Covington is a top defender in the league as well as a pretty good shooter from the arc, as well as the perimeter threat of Mike Muscala coming off the bench potentially next to Anthony Tolliver. The 2021 Unprotected first round pick is just a cherry on top for Philly to get this deal done.

Jimmy Butler is obviously a fantastic player and Philadelphia could create a three-headed monster by obtaining his talents. With Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, and Joel Embiid running the court you could potentially do what you want in the Eastern Conference and meet the Celtics in the Eastern Finals.

Giving up Robert Covington seem like a raw deal for Philly, but they fortunately signed Wilson Chandler to a one-year deal this offseason and has the ability to re-sign him next summer to a cheaper deal.

I believe both teams should think about this deal, especially since the idea of Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Jimmy Butler, Dario Saric, and Joel Embiid seems like one of the coolest rosters ever assembled.

Also, Minnesota needs to get out of their toxic situation with Butler, so adding two nice assets with a first seems like the main trade ideas that keep getting thrown around.

Our next trade is with the Toronto Raptors, who could potentially have one of the biggest offseasons in their team history if they make this deal.
