Jimmy Butler is traded to the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are 6-2 and are just coming into their own, winning four straight games with Kyrie Irving finally looking like Kyrie Irving again and not Uncle Drew – yes that was a shot.

Going off the idea that Minnesota should end this Jimmy Butler drama by giving into his demands, sending Butler to play with his supposed best friend Kyrie Irving in Boston just makes sense.

But, Boston would have to make the emotionally cold move of sending – almost healthy – Gordon Hayward to Minnesota in return. If you’re thinking that Boston would never do that with Hayward, ask Isaiah Thomas what he thinks of the possibility of the Celtics screwing over one of their own?

IT would probably post a whole Instagram story segment on the topic.

Gordon Hayward and his $30-35 million over the next few seasons doesn’t seem like a stable idea when you take a second to see how great Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are looking on rookie deals.

Furthermore,Signing Terry Rozier needs to be priority number one this offseason, and also enticing the Pelicans to send Anthony Davis to Boston.

Moreover, Jimmy Butler is ten-times the value of Gordon Hayward in a deal for Davis with New Orleans. So the Celtics and Danny Ainge should really consider making some smart moves in order to stop the reign of the Golden State Warriors for the next few years.

It seems that Gordon Hayward is physically healthy, but his “injury” looks more mental this season than anything. Getting out of the limelight in Boston and going to Minnesota to be a great veteran in the locker room to Towns and Wiggins could push his career down a better path than what will be asked of him in Boston.

The Celtics expect a championship and they are more likely to get that with the talents of a Butler or a Davis (if that comes to fruition).
