Minnesota Timberwolves: Jimmy Butler trades to all 30 NBA teams
By Trey Flynn
Jimmy Butler traded to the Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies are 5-2 and are currently the fifth seed in the Western Conference, that’s most likely due for a correction. However, Memphis could continue their fantastic start with the addition of Jimmy Butler’s talents.
Mike Conley Jr. was injured for most of last year, and Marc Gasol was having an internal struggle without Conley on floor that lessened his ability to be a great player with not much to work with in their lineups.
Obviously with both of those players physically and mentally back to playing pretty well and the Grizzlies trying to figure out their rookie Jaren Jackson Jr., you can expect some solid steps in the right direction this year.
Jimmy Butler is definitely a gritty player, and that’s essentially the type of guy that Grizzlies thrive off of, a lot like the Miami Heat.
The Grizz would send Dillon Brooks, Garrett Temple, and JaMychal Green (post-injury) to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Butler’s talents. And also a few first round picks, which arguably makes this the most low-key haul I’ve written thus far.
The Wolves get a youthful shooter, a veteran shooter, an all-around asset at the power forward position, as well as two unprotected first round picks from a bottom-five team in the league last season.
This is the kind of deal that we could see out of left field that Tom Thibodeau could potentially be waiting for, and if that’s true, then please by all means sign the dotted line.
What Minnesota needs to try to be more than anything is the Toronto Raptors of the West; they need to try and build on their depth and then everything else they want from Towns and Wiggins should fall into place.
