Jimmy Butler traded to the San Antonio Spurs

Are the San Antonio Spurs ever not good?

If Gregg Popovich can get DeMar DeRozan and Jimmy Butler in the same uniform, you can expect anything to be possible for the Spurs future.

Unfortunately, it’s not likely that Butler will re-sign with most of these teams, but if anyone can talk Butler into it, I could place my faith in the person being Pop.

Unless, of course, Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler are friends.

The Spurs are 5-2 and are currently the fourth seed in the West. And while I have them sending their All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge to Minnesota in a swap for Jimmy Butler, it’s a nice potential move.

As it’s harder to get a solid scheme going for an Aldridge type player than a movable piece like Butler.

What the Spurs need are assets, and Butler is just a better piece than Aldridge.

The Minnesota Timberwolves get a true power forward to play next to Towns. Moreover, the post may be a puzzle down low and possibly too crowded, but it’s not a bad idea to try and create the intriguing lineup of Towns and Aldridge.

Through seven games, Aldridge is averaging over 20 PPG, and shooting close to 50 percent from the field, but at times can be an inefficient big man (44.6 EFG percentage).

Out of all 30 deals, this one is very unlikely.
