Jimmy Butler is traded to the … LAAAABBROONNNNN JAMMMEESS

The Los Angeles Lakers are a roster mess and need to be re-constructed. However, they definitely have an identity of fast-paced full court basketball under the new Magic Johnson and LeBron James regime.

If the Lakers keep looking like a roster mess and continue to favor the number in the loss column, then a move will have to happen. The problem is that they are tied up in cap space, so nothing can happen with this deal above until December 15th.

In this deal, the Minnesota Timberwolves get a few fillers in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Rajon Rondo – and while you may think there is potential with KCP, I’m here to tell you that there isn’t much left in his tank.

The reason you do this move is soley for the draft pick(s) – depending on how Thibs handles his conversation with Magic.

As for the Lakers, you definitely make any deal that gets you Jimmy Butler, but obviously they can’t include LeBron or Brandon Ingram.

Giving up Lonzo Ball or Kyle Kuzma could potentially be another deal that is made, but I didn’t want to go there quite yet, it depends if Butler looks like his old self for the next few weeks.

To be honest, the Lakers missing the postseason is a real possibility. So if I’m LeBron, I’m knocking on Magic’s door and telling him to get his wand out and perform a spell on Thibs, ASAP.

That was the worst joke I’ve ever made, and also kind of weird, but I’m writing 15,000 words on a player that I can’t stand, so give me a break.
